During lunchtime on Wed 9 Aug 17 the Direct Works Team caught the 1245 hrs train to Leyburn where we outloaded all the kit and eqpt (less some very large items of furniture) from Arthur's Café in order that it can be completely redecorated internally. Everything was placed on the platform ready to load to the Guard’s Van on the 1517 hrs train to LBR. On arrival at LBR most kit was placed in the main Sta Bldg for temporary storage, but the large items went into the disused toilets. (09/08/2017)

The Mirror in the bungalow before moving:- We lifted, shifted and packed the beautiful but enormous NER mirror and transported it from Thirsk to Scruton on Wed 23 Aug 17. What a great team effort! Some background for those who don’t know it: The mirror is of North Eastern Railway provenance, and spent the first 70 years of its life (1860s-1934) in the First Class waiting room at Thirsk Station, on the northbound platform, which was demolished in 1934 when the line was widened and the station reconfigured.
