The Scruton Station Heritage Education Volunteers have been awarded both the Marsh Trust Museum Learning Award for the Yorkshire Region and the National Marsh Trust Award for Museum Learning, in a prestigious ceremony at the British Museum in London. The awards are made annually to volunteers in the heritage sector for their outstanding contributions to museum learning and engagement.

47715 stands at the head of a 15 wagon megatrain at Redmire. Earlier some of the wagons had been used to deliver track materials along the line. After shunting to collect the rest of the wagons the train headed back east. Six of the HNRC ZCA wagons are due to go for scrap. (29/09/2017)

'before photograph' - showing dumped ballast that covers the whole of the track - the infrastructure team was required to remove excess ballast around the chair so that the Tamping machine can tamp/lift track either side of the sleeper approx 700yds of sleepers were exposed for forthcoming tamping at two sites between Bedale and Crakehall (09/09/2017)
