Official photo from the National Railway Heritage award ceremony at the Merchant Taylor’s Hall, London on 6th December. This is the 3rd year in a row that WR has won recognition for the excellence of its work, winning a blue plaque in 2015 for Scruton Station restoration, in 2016 the crossing gates at Scruton, and now the service platform at Scruton Station - again a blue plaque for best in class. The award was presented by Mark Wild (Managing Director London Underground) and Mark Bonner (Customer Environment & Design Lead London Underground). Leyburn Loop Work - The blue pipe will connect the water tower to the water crane to be located at the end of the existing platform. The water tower will be opposite and located on a shelf in the north cess (to the right in this photo). Creating the shelf was particularly challenging as the rock is a very hard sandstone. Photos show Colin Brown (left), Stigo Parker (digger) and David Harrison (centre). (--/12/2017)
