Directors, Trustees and members of the Project Design Team met on 9th July to consider the proposals for the Leeming Bar Station House. Presentations were made by David Walker and Virginia Arrowsmith which covered the works to be undertaken and programmes to be delivered following restoration. Virginia is leading on stakeholder consultation, historical research and gathering detailed local knowledge. This work together with the conservation management plan is informing the kind of restoration to be carried out. The Trustees and Directors were delighted with the progress to date and plans for the future and passed motions of endorsement. It is anticipated that a stage 2 application for funding will be submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund by the end of August 2018. (09/07/2018)

As part of the restoration project we need to understand how the drains are configured and what work we will need to do to improve them so that they will be able to cope with the additional demand once the station has been restored. Volunteers of the Direct Works Team are investigating the run of the foul pipes using mapping produced by the sub ground survey completed by Met Consultancy (Leeds). Pipes have been laid on top of each other over the last 170 years! We have to make sense of these and fit new drains fit for purpose. (11/07/2018)
