First vehicle over the re-positioned points in the yard at Leeming Bar. These had to be moved about 20 yards east to allow Tornado a straighter entry to the shed road. A lot of work and to the untutored eye looks no different from what it was before, but it had to be done. (01/05/2019)

During Jan/Feb 2013 drainage pipes were installed at Leyburn shawl between B28 and B29. In recent wet weather it had been noted by drivers and track walker that it was extremely wet in this area. Rodding identified a blockage which was not clearing so the top of the pipe was cut off to find a root system in place. After cutting two more tops off the offending mass was removed. (13/05/2019)

May's first Vegetation Team outing was to Middlefield (between Leyburn & Constable Burton, job being to remove encroaching hawthorn. This is it when we started; torrential rain all day never stopped. Slippery sleepers looked like ancient forestry timber uncovered at low tide. (08/05/2019)

Same place a week later and in blisteringly hot conditions this image, more than any, shows the reality of vegetation clearance. If you're not chainsawing you're keeping up with those who are, and this stuff needs shifting fast. Even on non-running days (as here) the track is cleared as quickly as possible. It's hot sweaty work. (15/05/2019)

It's the last Wednesday of May and Vegetation clearance shows that what seemed (all month) like a left hand curve is actually a turn to the right. Already our drivers will have a much better view of the road ahead. There's more greenery left and right to take out but we're almost there. (29/05/2019)
