Due to the lockdown, most volunteer work stopped during November. However vegetation clearance and infrastructure work is considered to be 'essential work', so this was able to carry on as normal.
This month we have:-
1. The Bubblecar which was damaged when it ran into a tree earlier this year has left the railway for repair.
2. The restoration of coaches for the Polar Express supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund continues.
3. Work on new drains at Leeming Bar is virtually complete and excess spoil from the trenches has now been removed.
4. Work by the Vegetation Team at various locations.
5. Work by the Infrastructure Team.

The class 121 Bubble Car which was damaged when it ran into a large fallen tree near Bedale earlier this year has now left the railway to go to Nemesis Rail at Burton on Trent for repair. It should be back in service on the railway next year. (12/11/2020)

Heating and air conditioning systems are the job for this week on the mk2f coach.
Unfortunately some components were missing that are no longer available so with some help (from Eastern Rail Services) modern replacements have been sourced.
It is always a challenge fitting modern equipment onto an old panel especially when whoever took the parts also helpfully snipped all of the cables. However, as can be seen in one of the picture the relays are in and working on test and with telltale LED indications helping with setup. Once we are happy that they are performing correctly the temporary wiring will be replaced and the panel tidied up. (02/11/2020)Click here to see higher resolution photo

Prior to lockdown we managed to get the final coat of blue & grey on the mk2f coach with just the white lining required and the mk2a coach has received its last coat of blue and its first coat of grey. Unfortunately with no volunteers currently on site until after lockdown further progress will now be slow. (04/11/2020)
