Due to the current lockdown only work considered to be safety critical has been continuing. Vegetation and Infrastructure work fall into this category and Infrastructure teams have been very busy during January, working most days of the week carrying out a further track renewal at Argill Farm and also the replacement of Smiths User Worked Crossing.
This month we have:-
1. The Infrastructure teams doing a further track renewal at Argill Farm.
2. The Infrastructure teams replacing Smiths User Worked Crossing.
3. More photos of Rishi Sunak's visit to the railway in December.
4. Various views along the railway.
5. The Vegetation Team in action

Smiths User Worked Crossing Replacement - Concrete sleepers for Smiths UWC deck replacement being lifted at Leyburn. These had been earmarked for Smiths for a while now. (15/01/2021)

Smiths User Worked Crossing Replacement - These concrete U tubes were under the crossing and fully blocked with silt from water/soil from the road to the right which is uphill. These tubes have been laid on a bed of ballast and will be covered by old upturned concrete sleepers. (18/01/2021)

This is where the public footpath from Castle Bolton to the bottom road crosses the trackbed of the line beyond Redmire. Some drainage will certainly be needed here, when we extend the line to Bolton Castle. (07/11/2020)
