One of our extremely talented volunteers has been working hard on this beautiful needlepoint picture of our beloved station house at Leeming Bar.
Heather started by establishing the midpoint of the picture and completing a single window pane to establish the correct scale. The rest has been completed by eye.
Once finished the design will be displayed within the Station Master's parlour. (--/08/2021)Click here to see higher resolution photo

This beast arrived with us recently and will help us both with shunting and hauling works trains.
The locomotive was built by Brush Traction in Loughborough in 1977 for use on the Tyne and Wear Metro before moving onto the construction of the Channel Tunnel and then the rail terminal at Dudley before entering preservation. It features a Rolls Royce dv8n power unit with 427 horsepower and weighs in at 36 tonnes with a maximum speed of 30mph. (20/08/2021)Click here to see higher resolution photo
