On May 10th the vegetation gang split in to two teams. Team one went to Aiskew crossing where train drivers had reported issues with vegetation blocking their view of the A684 automatic crossing lights in the far distance as shown here in this "before picture". (10/05/2023)

On May 10th the second vegetation team were despatched to Blind lane Crossing where dead trees had become a danger to passers by on this regularly used lane. Three similar sized trees were removed; due to its angle of lean this one had to come down across the lane. (10/05/2023)

On the face of it, a large tree growing out of an embankment leaning away from the railway might not present a problem. However when high winds occur the flexing of the roots can destabilise the track formation. The tall tree in the centre here is just such a case in point. (24/05/2023)
