During August lots of work has been going on on the railway. This month we have:
1. Various service trains.
2. A beautiful colourful planter on Leeming Bar platform.
3. The Jazz Train raised £3100 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
4. Work by the Finghall Station Support Group.
5. More Clipex fencing installed by our fencing team.
6. Restoration work on a Mk.2 coach continues.
7. Restoration work on the Wickham trolley continues.
8. Restoration work on the railway crane continues.
9. Work by the Infrastructure Team.
10. Work by the Vegetation Clearance Team

First run of the finally in service Mk 1 coaches hauled by class 14 loco D9523. Arrival at Leyburn was accompanied by lightning, thunder and torrential rain. Many people sheltered in the station before continuing on to the Wensleydale Show after the downpour had stopped. (26/08/2023)

Work continues to restore the track from Leyburn towards Wensley. The cutting between Bridge 28,A684 and Bridge 29,Ord & Madison is badly overgrown even though it was cut back before Covid. In order to have good sight of the ground for future earthworks the trackside is being cleared. Work in progress. (28/08/2023)
