The final tea train of the season.
Sixty-five years of marriage, you can't say that every day!
So, when our dance group tutors announced the fact we thought a treat was in order, and what better than being spoil on the Wensleydale Tea Train. Seeing all the happy customers on previous tea trains while I helped in Arthur's café Leyburn assured me it was the right way to celebrate such a momentous achievement.
The tea train is great but what sets it way above other heritage railways it the staff, such a friendly helpful team. I have seen first-hand how the drivers and guards are too busy turning the train round to grab a cuppa while the catering staff are working flat-out to make the whole experience memorable.
On a personal note I would like to single out Mo for helping me organising such a fantastic afternoon for the loved-up couple Joan and Carl. (19/10/2025)Click here to see higher resolution photo

We recently acquired a Mark 1 Brake Gangwayed (BG) coach, number 92347. It is 57 feet long and has a guard's compartment in the centre and two large areas either side for storing luggage and parcels.
Once repairs are completed, the plan is for it to become a generator coach for use in events such as THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride. It is also proposed to install a prep kitchen area to enhance the delivery of our on-board catering services. Watch this space for more news over the coming months.
During BR days, the coach has carried the numbers 81326 and 84326. It was recently moved from Stratford-upon-Avon where it was used as a cycle hire shop at the Stratford Greenway. (07/10/2025)Click here to see higher resolution photo

Over two days, in October we have received incredible support from Volker Rail UK staff (VolkerRail Careers) and supply chain partners, working at Bedale Station! And everyone was looked after by our amazing Bedale Station volunteers!
Yesterday, the teams replaced old sleepers, carried out de-vegetation works, began construction of a new walking path, and undertook survey work to support future drainage improvements. There was also plenty of painting, from benches and planters to fences and signage. Today, they laid ballast, carried out welding, completed the access path and did further painting.
Thanks to the incredible efforts of everyone involved, Volker Rail have delivered over four months’ worth of upgrades in just two days! This is a huge achievement and a testament to what collaboration can accomplish. (--/10/2025)Click here to see higher resolution photo

37250 was in action this morning, assisting our friends at GB Railfreight. We collected 60087 'Ingleborough' from Castle Hills Junction and with the assistance of the DB Cargo recovery team who provided a wheel-skate, 60087 was slowly hauled for 5-miles to Leeming Bar. The loco now awaits onward movement by road for repairs. (26/10/2025)
