Mudfields 2 user worked crossing just west of Crakehall level crossing.
Reported problems with using the gates could be attributed to rotten gate posts. The severity of the rot can be seen on the old round post laying on the ground next to the new square post.

The three Mk2 coaches which were restored/repainted this year, have also had nice new seat cushions fitted. they use memory foam in place of the old worn out springs. This together with new LED lighting means that the interior of the coaches are as nice as the exterior. They are now in use on this year's POLAR EXPRESS™ Train rides and should give a much better impression of the railway.
Our volunteers/staff have made a really good job with these coaches (04/11/2025)Click here to see higher resolution photo

One of the biggest jobs undertaken by the vegetation team was to remove the scarecrow shaped dead tree smothered in ivy in the centre of your picture. Some idea of scale is given by the size of the veg team volunteers near the track. Much thought went in to this one. (12/11/2025)

The removal task facing the vegetation team following the felling of the dead tree west of Finghall. Due to the size of the job, limited numbers and the knowledge that polar express would be running the next day, help was gratefully sought from the P-Way team to remove this. (12/11/2025)
