An old photo of Hawes Junction station from the collection of a relative of Norman Cryer. Their ancestors lived in that area. Date unknown, although as it was renamed 'Hawes Junction and Garsdale' in January 1900, so it is almost certainly prior to that date.
Note that in 1932 it was renamed again to just 'Garsdale'. (Date unknown)Click here to see higher resolution photo

On a bitterly cold return to work in January, the vegetation team set about the annual task of dismantling and storing the North Pole scenery at Constable Burton, which they'd previously erected in October. Here they begin by removing some of the lighting. (07/01/2026)

"job done". The best part of the day. That feeling of achievement you get when you've completed what you set out to do. Here members of the veg team return to their vehicles and doubtlessly warm heaters will be set to thaw out cold bodies, and maybe heated seats for some! (07/01/2026)
