Our 3-day diesel gala over the bank holiday weekend was a huge success! 4 of our home-fleet diesels were joined by Colas Rail Freight class 37, 37254 ‘Cardiff Canton’. The weather was superb and the event very well supported.
We greatly appreciate the support of Colas Rail UK for use of their fabulous class 37 loco and their fantastic driver Jason Rogers. (23/05/2026)Click here to see higher resolution photo

An interesting photo which I (Bill Briggs) took during the Veg Team's work at the NW corner of Br19 (Croft Hall Fm) Constable Burton. It shows an ash sapling growing out of, not a tree stump but, the remains of a long-gone telegraph pole.
This reminded me of the motto on Lyle's Golden Syrup tins, 'Out of the strong comes forth sweetness'. (18/03/2026)Click here to see higher resolution photo

It's surprising what you find in the undergrowth on our side of the fence. Here the veg team return after their shift with an oil drum, a lorry tyre and a pile of barbed wire to recycle. Perhaps they should call themselves The Wombles! (27/05/2026)
