Argill Farm Track Relaying - Weeks 3 and 4
by the Infrastructure Group
In January 2018 the railway carried out a complete at Argill Farm. At 340 yards, this was the longest track renewal we have undertaken. The old track was thoroughly life-expired bullhead rail on softwood sleepers. It was replaced with flat bottom rail on concrete sleepers using Pandrol clips. The old track was taken to Leyburn for use in the passing loop there. Below you can see a comprehensive photographic record of the work.
