The train that kick started the Wensleydale Railway. After the line was closed to Limestone traffic in 1992 the MOD stepped in at the last minute to transport armoured Vehicles by rail rather than road. Here 47/145 "Merddin Emrys" has arrived at Redmire from Somerset with 19 AFV 430's with the initial trial "The Iron Temper" (15/11/1993)

The next day the Warriors are been loaded at Redmire. Unfortunately one of these Warriors slipped off (I missed it) the rail wagon whilst loading and did a slow roll into the adjacent field. No one was hurt but this prompted the cancellation of the train. (10/04/1996)

By this time a Warrior loading gauge had been built at Redmire. This armoured infantry vehicle passed but 5 others failed and had to be removed from the train. At the time the difference in pass/fail could be attributed to the thickness of the rubber track pads. It was a close tolerance. (24/06/1997)
