Todays task by the Leyburn team was to move 3 point sub assemblies from Peter Blacks UWC (User Worked Crossing) to under bridge 25 where the new Leyburn west points are to be installed was a big learning curve. Here the Ironman frames to be used in the task are receiving some maintenance as they were last used many years ago. (16/04/2018)

One of the switches (18 metres long, 2.4 tonnes) for Leyburn West points was delivered the wrong way round. Some muscle, chopping down of vegetation and the slight easing of a wire fence and notice pole turned it through 180 degrees. (16/04/2018)

Leyburn West Point - The first point assembly was in the four foot but 180' wrong way round so a pivot point was created and then spun round but a fence, bushes, and a sign meant it wasn't straight forward. (16/04/2018)

Leyburn West Point - Now correct way round and supported on 3 trolleys but the first point assembly was a bit too rigid for the curves and was near to a derailment issue. (16/04/2018)
