Replacement of Scruton Level Crossing Gates

The Scruton level crossing gates, although replaced relatively recently in 2015, had by 2025 deteriorated to such an extent that the gates were taken off with a view to replacing the bottom beam. However after commencing this work, it was discovered that the gates were too far gone to repair, and it was decided instead to procure new all steel gates, manufactured to look like traditional wooden gates and then have them installed.
